End Cap Snack Display

Working closely with the Sales and Category Management team at Mapco, Merrick set out to design, prototype, and manufacture a custom end cap display for their snack products. The wire shelving and adjustable hooks allow for maximum merchandising capacity and quick retrofitting of merchandise in a compact space. Designed to fit our client’s specifications and promote add-on and impulse purchases, the end cap display is now seamlessly integrated with existing retail gondola structures across 200 Mapco locations.

Refurbished Gondola Shelving

Worldwide manufacturing delays and supply chain interruptions relating to the pandemic caused severe delays across the retail industry, impacting Staples Canada’s commitment to update the look of their stores with new shelving and racking systems. With delivery delays of up to five months for new shelving, Staples Canada turned to Merrick to come up with a solution for their shelving requirements.
Merrick proposed a unique process that would repurpose existing gondola shelving and racking, to meet Staples Canada’s tight deadlines. Using a combination of Merrick’s paint stripping and powdercoating capabilities along with extensive warehouse and fulfillment resources, Merrick was able to strip down and re-powdercoat existing shelving and support systems in retailer-specific finishes. Once refinished, the shelves and racking were shipped to a central warehouse to be organized, inventoried, and shipped to various store locations and distribution centres nationwide. This project successfully enabled Staples Canada to meet several store opening and renovation deadlines. By reusing a large volume of existing store fixtures and pallet racking, Merrick helped Staples Canada to save thousands of pounds of metal from the landfill and completed their shelving requirements on schedule.
